fash•ion (fash-uh n) | walking the dog

I'm one of those people that crawls out of the bed, pops in my contacts, slips on a hoodie (one of 2 that I own - both which were freebies from work) over whatever I wore to bed the night before and walks my dogs out in public for everyone to see wearing just that.  And yes, sometimes that does include wearing my Paul Frank pajama bottoms out on the street at the crack of dawn. Ahh the life of a city dog.

I don't think that walking my dog requires an ensemble that impresses others, but there are definitely people that think different than I do - Ehem Clinton and Stacy.  I don't have the luxury of unleashing my dogs into a backyard to let them run freely, so in order for me to ensure that they don't end up marking their territory all over our place I have keep my prep at minimum.  It may be the only time aside from the gym that I'm comfortable going sans makeup.

|Do you give dog owners a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card on their outfits when they're walking their dog?  Or do you think people should put effort when they're even walking their dogs?|

You look so cute! I give people a pass when they are walking the dog, depending on the time of day. If it's super early, PJs are ok ;)

I think it depends on how much time you have. If it's first thing in the morning and you take them out before you even get ready for work, then by all means, wear your PJs (ahem...as long as they provide proper coverage!). But if it's later in the morning or afternoon, I'd take a few more minutes to at least throw on a comfy dress.

You look gorgeous in this dress, by the way, and I love the hat!

I pretty much do the samething, only without the cute hat.

Love those sandals! I think if it's early in the morning then who cares. No one judges people for wearing spandex to the gym, you should totally be able to rock PJs for walking the dog =)

i know alllll about this. i literally roll out of bed, put on something half decent (in the summer a sports bra and a cotton tank dress; winter - all about throwing a coat over my pjs), sunglasses to over my gross face and head out the door. i definitely do not try and make a good impression on my neighbors in the AM! ahhh, the life of a city dog mom! :)

Especially love the necklace! I usually am in workout clothes when taking the dog out in the morning (during the summer, when I don't work). I love Stacey and Clinton, but I think it's actually an accomplishment for me to feel okay doing this (and to, GASP, go to the grocery store with no makeup). I used to be too insecure to do this and would pile on the makeup before doing ANYTHING...so I'm good with lookin' very casual for certain things. :)

You look totally adorable & comfortable in this outfit-- I'm envious of that dress. I wake up at the crack of dawn to go to estate sales and wear my slightly shapeless 1950s house dresses and minimal makeup. If it's before 7AM I'm going to be comfortable!

I have city dogs too so I know how you feel! :) I try to get dressed before I take the dogs out but it doesn't always happen. I don't go out in my pajamas though but usually yoga pants and whatever flats I can find is what I go with! :)

I have a beagle baby, too! Love the outfit combo. It looks comfy enough to walk the dog, but super cute.
