fash•ion (fash-uh n) & life (lahyf) | dining al fresco

The turn in temperature is a clear sign that the transition into fall is coming up sooner than expected. This week's weather has been so comfortable with mid 80 temps and absolutely no humidity (says my hair). Since the days of summer are limited my friend Jen and I wanted to take advantage of it by snagging a seat at Bridge House Tavern's outdoor patio along the Chicago River. Sadly, the entire outdoor area was taken over by a private party (which I was more than willing to crash). However, that didn't stop us from sitting indoors and enjoying the restaurants AMAZING Honey Jalepeno Bacon Popcorn. This seriously trumps Revolution Brewing's Bacon Popcorn which is equally delicious, but just not the best.

I definitely had to step back when we left the restaurant and appreciate the view that could have been if we had the chance to eat outside.  Isn't Chicago so pretty?  It truly is my favorite city.

Since the weather is cooling down, it's the perfect time to be wearing maxis.  I personally would prefer not wearing pants so maxis are great because it keeps your legs warm the same way that pants do when the weather starts getting cooler.  Maxis can be dressed up or down, and it's also a great way to stay comfy all day.

The heat is relentless in Lahaina. Urgh... last night was a scorcher.. but then again it could be that we only use our ceiling fans. LOL.

Lovin' the tye dye top, Tab. Hope you're enjoying the rest of your Sunday.

xx Love & Aloha

does being in the 90s count as cooling down? Here in Texas we don't expect cooler weather until October so shorts are still the norm :)

I love the way you tied your shirt with the maxi dress. You look darling!

I know how hard you've been working at being and staying healthy, and I think it's really showing. Not just in shape, or a number on a scale - you hair and skin look great and there's a healthy glow about you.

Also, must go make bacon popcorn.

Bacon popcorn? OMG.

Love the night shots of the river. Really crisp focus, which is not easy to do in that light!

Ah, great use of a maxi in the late summer. But don't call it over yet!

This outfit is ADORABLE, of course. I love the tie-dyed shirt with the simple black maxi. And can I get a HELL YEAH for this weather!?!?? I totally did not expect such wonderful temperatures when I got back from Ecuador! Keep it up, Chi-town!

This is one of my favorite outfits of yours, I like the way you tied the colorful top over the long, dark skirt.

The popcorn looks so delicious, I'm a fan of Rev Brewing's so am curious to see how this one compares! Was it pretty spicy though with the pepper?
