life (lahyf) | when worlds collide

Meet some of my oldest friends.

This picture was taken on our Senior Grad Night Party in high school and honestly, not much has changed since this picture was taken 13 years ago. Okay so a lot of life changes have taken place and now most of these girls have their own children to care for, but friendship wise - not much has changed.  To this day, these are the girls I call when I'm having a life crisis or just need to vent.  Although we only see each other once or twice a year (if we're lucky) - nothing will ever change the bond we have.

Now after almost 4 years of living in Chicago, two of my bestest friends are FINALLY coming for a visit and I can't wait for them to be introduced to this part of my life. Because we've all lived in different cities, went to different colleges, followed different career paths and well...became adults - we've grown in different directions.  Seeing the part of each others' lives that we're no longer a daily part of is always so fun because you get to appreciate how much that friend has grown.  I absolutely can't wait for my oldest friends to meet my newest friends and for them to experience Chicago since they've both never been.  Although we all live in different cities, there's always that small window when our worlds collide and we get a peek into each others life that we've grown apart from.

This pictures was from the last time our worlds collided a few years ago in Vegas and to this day it was one of the best trips we've ever had.  In fact, it was so much fun that two of the girls I met for the first time on this trip are also coming into town the same weekend so that we can bring this party in heels to Chicago!

|How has your circle of friends evolved throughout the years?  Are you still friends with those you were close to in grade school or high school?|

Looks like you have some super friends! I still keep in pretty close touch with 3 of my besties from high school, which was even longer ago than yours! There is something to be said about having people in your life who knew you way back when. It's a very good thing :)
