life (lahyf) | football aka soccer

I like sports, but I don't love it.  The only ones that grab my attention the same way the September issue of Vogue does are NBA games (might be another year before I see another one) and UFC or boxing matches.  It's a little out of character, but that is a true story.  Deep down inside, hidden underneath the dresses and make-up, I truly believe that I'm 75% boy based on my personality.  To put it in context, I still laugh at stupid fart jokes, burp outloud if I've downed beer too quickly, love going to the auto show to check out the latest cars, never know what to say when others cry around me and can only tolerate a certain amount of girl drama before I start to tune out.

Since I wasn't raised in a household that followed a ton of sports, I never developed an interest at a young age.  However, the older I get and more I understand sports (like learning the rules), the more I actually find an appreciation for them.  Insert my first experience with a live MLS game.

I absolutely LOVED every minute of the game, BUT of course the fashionista in me was never going to wear any type of sports gear.  I don't own any sports gear and to be honest I didn't really know what the Chicago Fire colors were so I resorted to a super relaxed outfit that showed neutral colors.

Neutral is a great way to go, but if you're going to any game and don't want to wear branded attire - embracing team colors is the way to go.  Check out the outfit I should have worn that the girls from Gameday Stylist put together. They are the perfect team to make sure you're well equipped to go to any game in style.

Awe thanks Tabitha! I hear you on the NBA - sadly I think it may be another year before I get to see my Knicks play again :(

I've only been to one professional soccer game. I think it would be fun to see one outside of the states, where there are a lot more soccer fans.

Haha I'm not the hugest soccer fan either but I've grown to like it :) You both look lovely in neutrals!

I played soccer in high school and college, so I have a deep and abiding love for it. I haven't been to many professional games in the US (lots in Europe), so this post has me all excited to get my act together! I may even step past the neutrals and wear a team color! ;)

My boyfriend and I go to the Colorado Rapids games (he's a big fan of soccer, I'm a big fan of nachos). But at every game, I always cheer for the visiting team, to be both supportive of the underdog and to annoy the bf. When Chicago came, I brought along a cow bell to ring. No one got the joke... :(
