fit•ness (fit-nis) | foursquare

If you follow me on Foursquare you'll see that my check-ins are pretty random.  Ok totally random. Between running errands at Target and restaurants I honestly check-in when I remember.  However, the one place I'm pretty consistent about checking-in to is the gym.  Whether I check in to the gyms I have memberships with or a workout room at the hotel I'm staying at when I travel, I'm sure to use Foursquare as a way to document how many days I'm working out each week.

Yesterday, Foursquare reminded me that it's been 15 consecutive weeks that I've checked-in to my local gym and that I've been there 50 times within these 15 weeks.  I remember a while back I used to question the whole purpose of "checking-in".  In my case - it's a way to keep me accountable and motivate me to keep going.

With today's check-in make that 51 times I've been at the gym within the 15 weeks.

This is a great idea! My husband is what keeps me accountable for keeping up with the gym routine, lol.

Eeekk! This is hard! I keep a journal (which is really a calendar planner). I try to go at least 3 times a week. But lately, I've been slacking! I've never heard of foursquare so I will have to check it out! Thanks! :)

Great way to keep track. I try to do that manually on a calendar, but this would be so much easier.

I have Four Square on my phone, but have only used it once.

Hey Tabitha! I use to post my workouts on my Facebook wall. That way if I skipped, I could hear it from my friends. Talk about motivation. It worked a couple of months but then I stopped. As soon as I finish all this dental work, I'm going to be back on it. I've lost weight because of the dental work, but not in a healthy way! I have a tready at home. This is great! I love foursquare.

Hmmm... I would say the little baby pooch that won't fit in my jeans has been keeping me accountable these days. Argh! I like your idea better!

P.S. You should totally come to the next meet up. xo

I put a workout log on my blog! It helps having it out there in public and serves as a reminder when I've been slacking (like this past week - eek!)

hehehe - this is awesome to have a check-up gym routine. I don't exercise because I have no time but even if I did I prob would not. I know I am awesome. But this is an awesome way to keep track!

I love that idea! I have to tell my boss every morning what workout I did the night before so if I don't do it, she doesn't let me snack constantly.

That's awesome! Didn't know that Foursquare gives reminders like that!
