life (lahyf) | home

I'm a messy person.  Just ask my husband who's constantly picking up after all my clutter and messes.  That's why when it comes to home decor we keep it pretty minimal.  Less amount of furniture and places for me to store things = less mess.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the idea of adding character to each room in our place and I even love pinning new ideas onto my Pinterest board.  But, I'll be honest, the likelihood of me doing more than what's required is pretty slim to none.  I've always thought it was funny that my home is actually a pretty bad representation of who I am just based on it's simplicity.  I like to consider myself a creative individual with layers of personality, but my home says none of that...take a look for yourself.

Although I always toy around with the idea of painting walls, adding splashes of color and hanging fun wall art, I like how my home looks like a bachelor pad.  It leaves minimal room for error in making decorating mistakes and really all I need are pictures of my loved ones hanging around to make it feel like home...which it does.

Oh we have painted walls and decor, but the problem with that (and Pinterest) is then I want to change things up too often. That costs too much! Ha! So I guess at least the neutral palette allows for small changes in color with pillows and other things, which cost much less. Happy New Year!

My home has no character - because I can't decorate worth anything! And because after BF and I decided to buy a blue and white pattern couch and armchair, it through everything else off in the decorating department!

when I lived alone in a 1 bedroom condo it was decorated perfectly. I'm talking architectural digest(If I do say so myself). Then I moved...now, nothing is quite right. BF and I DO NOT have the same art taste, the paint color is meh and needs to be redone after 6 years plus the dog ate the bedroom carpet and the WALL (when she was a puppy). I'm currently working on getting my place back to somewhat stylish.

Everything is so pristine, Tabitha! I wish I was clean like that. My husband and I are really very cluttery people. We have tons of books and knick knacks all over the place, so it's hard to keep it clean-looking. oh and 3 cats. that makes it impossible to be clean.
