When I lived in LA I was obsessed with Rachel Pally. Even before she started selling in major retailers, I discovered her amazing clothes through the sample sale circuit and after purchasing my first piece I was hooked. Luckily, Rachel's mom used to hold sample sales out of her garage not too far from my office in Burbank and I would score great dresses that were originally $200 plus for only $50. Her sample sales made it difficult to buy anything at original price and before we moved to Chicago I stocked up on a few key pieces....
That was almost 5 years ago and have kept each of her pieces in my summer wardrobe. In the last year I haven't really worn any of the pieces, but it wasn't until I was reading Molly Sims' interview in this month's Fit Pregnancy, that I was reminded of her dresses that sat in my closet. Molly was saying that she only invested in a handful of dresses to get her through her pregnancy - one of them being a Rachel Pally dress. After reading the article, I pulled out my original Rachel Pally purchase (a convertible dress) and was so thankful that I kept her pieces.
I forgot how comfortable her dresses are and how perfect the breathable, soft, buttery fabric is for the summer. But what makes it so great for me, especially now that I'm 8 months pregnant and growing by the hour, is that the fabric grows with me without compromising the style of the dress. Not only that, but her dresses are the perfect canvas and can be dressed up or down with the right shoes and accessories.
It's been awhile since I've purchased a Rachel Pally piece, but after re-introducing myself to some old favorites, I'm now obsessed with getting a few more. The prices are on the higher end, but they're such great investment pieces. If you're pregnant, her pieces are ones that you will use throughout your pregnancy, but rest assured you don't have to be pregnant to see the benefit of her great styles. Here are a couple of my favorite pieces.
