I'm one of those people that doesn't really like resolutions because I believe you shouldn't wait until the beginning of the year to make a change. However, this year I guess you can say that what I'm doing is somewhat of a "resolution". I've decided that 2013 is the year that I improve my relationships with people. For every month in 2013 I'll set a new relationship goal with challenges and share updates on how it's all going - the ups, downs, successes, etc. Since having my son I've learned even more that there is no price to relationships and that every one of them are valuable. I want to teach my son the value of building good relationships and that every person he'll meet in life will make a huge impact in some way, shape or form.
January - Month #1 | Get Re-Acquainted With Someone I Once Knew
For my first month, I would like to focus on past relationships. In our lives so many people come and go - some stick around for awhile and some just fade away. Either way I believe that if someone has made an impact in your life, even the smallest influence, you should never let that person out of your life. January will be a month of re-establishing friendships.
Challenge: Each day in January, reach out to someone I haven't talked to in months or years. Ask them how they're doing, what they've been up to and how life has been. Remember, and be reminded, all the reasons why this person is in your life.
